Dear Readers (!)

I have decided to start a regular blog, just to have my own commentary on things spiritual, religious, political, as well as nonsensical!

I will update it weekly, at least, and I hope to have some interesting things for you to look over and respond.

I am a United Methodist minister in downtown Los Angeles with a diverse congregation.(diverse in age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, languages, well, you name it!)

The church was started over 153 years ago, so its quite a responsibility given to us to care for this old institution. I came to the congregation in 2005, and it has been such a pleasure over the last two years, working with our congregation. Its quite a loving and fun group of folks, which I know flies in the face of many people's assumptions about church.

I'll be posting more about my own thoughts, and our adventures as a church community within our broader downtown community-- so keep checking back!
